Good Evening parents, swimmers and Executive Members
Welcome you to 38th Annual General Meeting
Thank you for joining us today
I would like to first say a few words about the year that has passed, about the great achievements of the swimmers and the future of the club.
Since our last AGM we continue to have challenges around the availability of watertime regardless the club have been able to response and adapt to these challenges in the best possible manner.
I would like to thank the parents , swimmers and the member of of the executive who have continue to support the club.
As a family club we have been able to complete yet another good year of achievements from our swimmers under the guidance of our head coach Stewart Park and his coaching team.
Some of our key achievements are:
- Outstanding achievements at various competitions - We had swimmers achieving National qualifying times, Regional & County qualifications.
- Successful coaching team and the learn to swim programme
- Successful Club which ran inter club/ in house competitions with the support of our competition secretary Dominique Ford - Tash &Richard organising the officials.
- Partnership working with parents’ volunteer, without who we would be at loss especially the support given at gala and the executive members
- Newly qualified officials - timekeeper, J1, & J2
As a club we continue to thrive to support our swimmers to achieve the best they can. We go forward into the new year in a sound financial state, with purpose vision to continue to build on our successes.
May I take this opportunity to say thanks :

Head Coach Report
As with every year. I would like to start by thanking the teaching and coaching staff for their hard work throughout the season. I would also like to thank the working executive and the parents of the club for the support throughout the year.
This year has seen the club grow and progress both in and out of the pool. For the past few years i have talked about the foundations of our club, to ensure success as we move forwards. I believe we are starting to build on those foundations and move forwards.
This season has seen an increased representation at both Middlesex County Championships and London Regional Championships. Most importantly an increased representation in finals by age group swimmers (swimmers aged 14& under)
Examples of this are Laura Sharrock being crowned County 100 Back Champion. Alex Coyle & Abdel Abdi making finals at Regionals a year young (swimming as 11 in the 11/12year age group) Hazel Macgonigal winning the silver medal in the 50m Back at Regionals.
As usual, we continued to perform at a youth level. With every swimmer at London Youth Regionals making a final. Especially impressive for swimmers such as Nathan Beardwell, who are competing at his first Regional Championships. Ben Hooper came away from these championships as 4 time Champion. Winning all 3 events in the Fly.
On an individual note. Ben Hooper has broken 5 of the 6 Short course & Long Course Middlesex County records. Breaking the 50/100/200 fly SC records and 50/100 Long Course records.
From these championships, we had 4 swimmers qualify for the National Championships held each year in Sheffield. Pavan Marwaha qualified for the 50m Back (National) 100m Back (English) Pavan made finals in both, coming away with the silver medal in the 100back. Pavan’s 1st National medal. Honey Butterworth made the final in the 50m Back at English Nationals. Youssef Nkrumah qualified for British Nationals in the 50m Fly. Ben Hooper raced in all 3 fly events at British Nationals, making the final in the 100 Fly, finishing 5th in the country. Ben also qualified for the 100 Free and 200 I.M at English Nationals. Ben qualified for the final of the I.M finishing 4th.
These performances have led to our swimmers being selected for exciting opportunities, such as:
Ben Hooper – Middlesex County Team competing in Lyon
Pavan Marwaha, Youssef Nkrumah, Ben Hooper – Middlesex County Team National Inter Counties
Abdel Abdi, Alex Coyle, Kai Carlos – 11/12 Regional Development Camp
Pavan Marwaha – British Swimming AASE Programme
Ben Hooper – British Swimming Phase 2 Butterfly Camp
Ben Hooper – London Region Team competing in Amiens
I would also like to congratulate Helen Ford on being selected to develop her training in Loughborough as part of the young Officials development weekend. Being 1 of only 6 officials selected to take part in this training opportunity.
I look forward to what the remainder of this season has in store for us. Thank you all again for your continued support.
Head Coach – Borough of Harrow SC
Treasurer Report 2016
The Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet of the Borough of Harrow Swimming Club are in front of you.
They have been subject to independent examination, and the opinion of the independent auditor is attached.
The Income and Expenditure Account shows a profit of £2681 compare to a loss of £5251 in 2015.
The committee have agreed not to increase squad fees for the coming year.
The club membership fees will increase to £50 for 2017.
The club aims to set fees at affordable levels and this is made possible by our sustain income from our successful LTS programme and the income from our internal galas.
The club continues to provide high levels of pool time and the highest standards of teaching and coaching, while closely controlling costs.
The financial position and the anticipated future financial results are satisfactory.
There are no financial issues which should be brought to the attention of our members.
Lastly my thanks to all the coaching team, LTS teachers, club administrator, officials and volunteers for all their hard work and efforts through the year.
