Every year clubs the length and breadth of Great Britain race off against each other in their respective regions for the right to be crowned champions and bragging rights over each other. The Borough of Harrow Swimming Club Head Coach Rob selects each round team on the policy 'swim to win', so the fastest 4 swimmers in each age band based on age at 31st December. The club is in Division 1 of the highly competitive London League and last night saw a very exciting and fast night on the first round of 3 in this action-packed league and the swimming from our own Harrow swimmers was definitely exceptional! The team spirit from every swimmer was as equally exceptional, seeing many swimmers sporting their team's colours in terms of body paint.
As a club compared to last year we had a much harder first round in terms of the teams we faced against, but this did not phase our swimmers who swam an impressive 52% new personal best times with another 33% with 1 second of their PB. Not to be outdone in the relay events, compared to our 2017 teams 50% of them where faster demonstrating as a club we are going from strength to strength! On the night the team finished 6th out of 8 teams!
Roll on round 2 for another evening of fast team racing!
