Swim England Pathway

Borough of Harrow S.C.’s Alex Coyle Nationally Recognised!

Following some amazing performances in 2018, former Regional Age swimmer (recently promoted to Performance Squad) Alex Coyle has been recognised and selected for Swim England Phase 1 Skill Development Talent Camp based on his GB ranking positions and performances at the summer National Championships.

At these intensive swim camps, the swimmers will be assessed and coached alongside other like-minded and talented swimmers in order to help them to progress further to the highest levels in the sport.

Rationale behind the Phase 1 Talent Camp

During this camp, we aim to create an environment that allows swimmers to increase their potential, improve their skills and enhance their swim specific knowledge. Swimmers will then be profiled on physical, technical, physiological and historical factors.

Location (South East and London Regions)

Wycombe and Guildford

Number of Participants

Up to 320 swimmers will be identified from each region.

Development Camp Aims

To develop skills and improve stroke efficiency on all four strokes. Relay takeovers, individual medley, turns on IM.

To collect swimming data to allow a greater informed view of swimmers’ future potential.

To ensure technical swimming concepts are implemented and understood.

The Phase 1 Talent Camps identify For 13/14 year old swimmers things get even more intense and the criteria for invitation to their camps is based on the English Rankings. Borough of Harrow S.C. swimmer Alex Coyle performed incredibly well last season with Alex being the only 13 year old making finals at the 2018 English Nationals in the 50m and 100m Butterfly as a 13 year old in a 13/14 year age group. Alex is definitely looking forward to attending the England Talent Swim Camps.

Congratulations Alex from all at Borough of Harrow S.C!
